I have been invited to join the "The Sydney Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef Project" - and I'm very excited. I've been following with great interest the reefs set up around the world as part of the Institute for Figurings voice on the plight of coral reefs around the world, and just how important they are in our ecology.

The combining of Science, maths and Art is amazing, and I would encourage anyone to get involved, the Institute for Figuring's website is THEIFF

G'day Nettie
I'm wondering if you are the young lady in the photos that was crocheting the corkscrews on the Sydney Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef workshop day? I loved the corkscrews but can't get a reply on the SHCCR blog & I was thrilled to find your pictures on Flicker. I can crochet corkscrews but yours look so much fuller/tighter & holding their shape far better than mine... so I was hoping that you might be willing to share your secret recipe for making them... thanks in anticipation... + I'm sure they will include them in the Coral Reef show... Awesome art concept, indeed coral reefs are one of the most beautiful sights in the oceans, they are so full of life.

I enjoyed following the whole entry, I always thought one of the main things to count when you write a blog is learning how to complement the ideas with images, that's exploiting at the maximum the possibilities of a ciber-space! Good work on this entry!
